About BMDA
We develop management as a science and a profession, and promote high educational standards in the Baltic region and beyond.
Bridging East and West
Universities, business schools, professors and business professionals from the Baltic states and other countries founded the Baltic Management Development Association at the end of 2002. They wanted a regional network for management development.
From the start, BMDA has worked to raise the quality of management development in the Baltic region and beyond. It promotes research, offers educational services and creates networking opportunities for management development institutions and companies.
“Bridging East and West” became the association’s motto. BMDA links management schools from East and West, so members can share the experience of transformation, rapid growth and stabilisation that shaped the new EU member states, including the Baltic countries.
Today BMDA unites 47 members in 18 countries.

What BMDA does
Annual conference
Held each year in a member country, on the most current challenges in management development and on cooperation between business and management schools.
Research
BMDA helped create the Baltic Journal of Management, published by Emerald since 2005, for fundamental and applied management research.
Training and exchange
Seminars and trainings for management educators, with special attention to young educators and PhD students, and teacher mobility between members.
Networking
Meeting places for members, other educational institutions and companies to discuss the issues that matter for management development.
Quality standards
Information and knowledge for members on international accreditations. BMDA is an associated member of EQUAL.
Recognition
The BMDA Awards recognise members for innovativeness and significant impact.

Baltic Journal of Management
Published by Emerald Publishing, launched with BMDA in 2005. BMDA has worked with Emerald since 2004.
